Business Keyboarding I
This course is designed to help students develop basic knowledge of the keyboard by learning
the touch operation of alphanumeric/keyboard characters. Emphasis is placed on the following:
Knowledge of the keyboard with desirable keyboarding techniques; development of speed and
accuracy; and proper care of the equipment. Keyboarding is foundation for developing entry-
level skills for business careers. Students will be assessed according to the following formula:
Style , speed, units production and exams.
Business Keyboarding II
Continuation of keyboarding I. Emphasis is placed on the mastery of the techniques learned in
keyboarding I. It is designed to provide an opportunity to master the skill of entering alphabetic,
numeric, and symbolic information on a keyboard and a ten-key pad using the touch method of
keyboarding. Emphasis is placed on development of accuracy, speed, proper techniques, and
correct fingering. The student will develop skill in formatting letters, reports, and other business
documents. Students will be assessed according to the following formula: Style, speed, units
production and exams.
Microsoft Office Training Series
Microsoft Word
This course will provide the student with the basic concepts required to produce basic business
documents, increase the complexity of their documents by adding components such as
customized lists, tables, charts, and graphics. Students will also create personalized efficiency
tools, manage, revise and distribute long documents, and forms.
Microsoft Excel
Students will learn how to create and edit basic worksheets and workbooks, how to streamline
and enhance spreadsheets with templates, charts, graphics, and formulas. Students will apply
visual elements and advanced formulas to a worksheet to display data in various formats and
how to automate common tasks, apply advanced analysis techniques to more complex data sets,
collaborate on worksheets with other, and share Excel data with other applications.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Students will learn how to create effective basic PowerPoint presentations for delivery in front of
an audience and how to enhance presentations with features that will transform basic
presentations into those with a powerful means of communication.
Microsoft Project
This course prepares students to manage projects more efficiently, through schedules, finances,
human resources and integration to Microsoft system programs. Students will learn, project
screen, how to enter information, how to use the project guide, how to enter task and task
durations, enter costs, identify and enter work and cost variance, balance project progress
information. It will also assist students to update, modify and keep project moving once project
has reached implementation phase and provide them with the skills necessary to start sending
and responding to e-mail, as well as maintaining a calendar, scheduling meetings, and creating
tasks.
